Transparency note

Alex Carter is an editorial persona, not a separate individual. It is the byline under which the Boxing Arcade team publishes its guides and game documentation. We use a single consistent byline so that the voice, standards and responsibility for the editorial content are clear and unified — and we tell you it is a persona rather than implying a biography that does not exist.

The people behind it are the same small team that designs and builds the games on this site. Questions, corrections and complaints reach them directly at hello@boxingarcade.xyz.

What this byline covers

Everything in the guides library and all of the written content on the thirty game pages: descriptions, control tables, mechanics explanations, scoring breakdowns, difficulty notes, tips and FAQs.

Where the expertise comes from

It comes from building the games. The team writing about how a combo meter decays is the team that chose the decay window and tuned it, and the numbers quoted in the guides are read out of the source rather than estimated. When a guide says a jab recovers in 0.115 seconds, that figure is in /js/game/combat.js and you can check it.

We have been building and writing about browser games since 2018, with a particular interest in arcade combat design, timing windows and how difficulty is communicated to players. That is the ground this site covers.

What we do not claim

We want to be precise about this, because gaming sites are full of invented authority.

  • We are not professional boxers, former professional boxers, or amateur competitors.
  • We are not licensed boxing coaches or trainers, and nothing on this site is boxing instruction.
  • We hold no certification, qualification, award or membership related to boxing, sports science or physical training.
  • We are not affiliated with any boxing organisation, promotion, sanctioning body, gym, or game publisher.

Where our guides touch on real-world boxing — terminology, the history of boxing video games, how a real jab differs from an arcade one — we describe it as general background and point to sources. We do not present it as coaching, and we do not make claims about fitness, health or athletic performance.

Editorial interests

  • Arcade combat design, especially three-phase attack systems and counter windows
  • How difficulty is tuned, and how honestly it is communicated on a game's storefront
  • Reaction time, timing windows and input latency in browser games
  • Canvas rendering, procedural art and small-payload web games
  • Accessible game design: keyboard support, touch controls, reduced motion
