How Difficulty Actually Works in Boxing Games
The complete difficulty table used across the site, what each value changes, and why harder settings genuinely pay more.
Championship games are the long form. A run is a sequence of fights against progressively harder opponents, your health carries most of the way, and the decisions that matter are about what you spend now versus what you will need later.
5 playable games in this category — 3 hard, 2 expert.
Editorially selected starting points for this category.
Four shapes appear in this category. Champion's Path is a fixed ladder — the same eight opponents in the same order, which makes it learnable and turns resource management into planning. Golden Gloves Arcade is a bracket, where the other side of the draw genuinely resolves between your bouts. Boxing Tower is a climb with stacking modifiers that change the rules as you go. Boxing Champion and Ultimate Boxing Arcade both interleave fights with challenge stages drawn from the rest of the site.
All of them share the same core tension: carried health. Twenty per cent back between fights in Champion's Path, fifteen in Boxing Tower, fifty in Golden Gloves Arcade. That number is the single most important thing about how each game plays, because it sets the price of winning a fight aggressively.
Ultimate Boxing Arcade is the site's flagship and sits at the end of this category deliberately. It uses every mechanic the engine has, and its final opponent is the hardest single fighter the site generates.
Every game in this category, all of them playable in the browser.

How to improve on purpose rather than by accumulation: what to practise, how to measure it, and the three habits that hold most players back.
Where the points actually come from, which trade-offs are worth taking, and why most high-score attempts fail for the same reason.
How we balance an arcade fight: the rules we hold to, the numbers they produce, and the mistakes we made getting there.
Two design philosophies, not a hierarchy. What each approach models, what it leaves out, and why the arcade version is easier to learn and harder to master.
Everything that matters about arcade boxing in one place: the punch model, the defensive vocabulary, scoring, difficulty and the six categories on this site.
A run of several fights against progressively harder opponents, usually on a single health bar with a partial top-up between fights. The challenge is the whole run rather than any individual fight in it.
Champion's Path. Its ladder is fixed, which means you can learn the route, and the opponent styles are announced before each fight.
A ladder is a fixed sequence of opponents you climb. A bracket, as in Golden Gloves Arcade, runs other fights alongside yours and the results genuinely determine who you meet next.
It varies by game and it is the most important number in each one: 20% in Champion's Path, 15% in Boxing Tower, 40% in Heavyweight Challenge and 50% in Golden Gloves Arcade.
