Boxing Blitz — Free Boxing Arcade Game
Boxing Blitz is the game to start with if you have never played arcade boxing before. It uses the full punch set — jab, hook, uppercut — plus a guard and a slip, and it asks one question over three rounds: can you land clean without getting caught on the way back out?

About Boxing Blitz
Boxing Blitz is a side-view arcade boxing match fought over three ninety-second rounds. You control the fighter on the left. Your opponent works from a set of readable attack patterns that get faster and longer as the rounds pass, and every punch they throw has a visible wind-up before it can land. That wind-up is the whole game: it is your cue to block, to slip, or to beat them to the punch.
The three punches are not interchangeable. The jab is quick, cheap and safe — it recovers fast enough that you can throw it on instinct. The hook does real damage but leaves you exposed for a quarter of a second afterwards. The uppercut hits hardest of all and has the longest recovery in the game, which makes it a punch you earn rather than a punch you spam. Stamina ties the three together: throw everything at once and your fighter slows down, moves worse and cannot guard properly until it recovers.
Scoring rewards the version of boxing the game is trying to teach. A punch landed while the opponent is recovering from their own scores as a counter and is worth substantially more than the same punch landed on a guard. Taking a punch breaks your combo immediately, so the multiplier is as much a measure of your defence as of your offence. Win by knockdown in any round, or be ahead on damage when the final bell goes.
Objective
Win all three rounds by outscoring your opponent on damage, or end the fight early with a knockdown. Keep your combo alive by not getting hit.
How to play Boxing Blitz
- Press Start and wait for the bell — the countdown gives you three seconds to set your feet.
- Watch for the yellow ring around your opponent's glove. That is the wind-up, and it is your cue.
- Hold Block to absorb the punch, or slip left or right to avoid it entirely and open a counter window.
- Answer immediately. A punch landed while they are recovering counts as a counter and scores far more.
- Watch your stamina bar. When it runs low your punches slow down and your guard leaks — back off and let it refill.
- Chain punches inside the combo window to build a multiplier, but remember one clean punch against you resets it to zero.
Boxing mechanics in Boxing Blitz
Three-phase punches
Every punch has a wind-up, an active window and a recovery. You can only be countered during recovery, which is why the jab is safe and the uppercut is not.
Guard height
Your block covers the head by default. Body shots get through a high guard at reduced damage, so a pure turtle is not a strategy.
Slip and counter
A successful slip gives you roughly a third of a second of invulnerability and leaves your opponent mid-punch. That is the best counter window in the game.
Stamina
Punches and slips cost stamina. Below a quarter it regenerates more slowly, your footwork slows and your punches lose snap.
Combo meter
Hits within about a second of each other chain. The multiplier curves upward and flattens near ×5, and any clean punch against you resets it.
Round escalation
Round two adds longer combinations. Round three raises opponent speed and shortens their recovery frames.

Tips and strategy
- Lead with the jab. It is the only punch that recovers fast enough to throw speculatively, and it keeps the combo window open while you look for a bigger shot.
- Do not answer a combination in the middle. Block the first two punches, then counter the third — the recovery after a long combination is the widest opening you will get.
- Slipping is better than blocking when you have stamina to spare, because it costs the opponent their punch and gives you a free counter instead of chip damage.
- Save the uppercut for a slipped punch. Thrown cold it is nearly always blocked and then punished.
- Watch the opponent's stamina, not just your own. When theirs dips they throw shorter combinations and guard less — that is your round to win.
- If you are ahead on damage in round three, there is no shame in boxing on the back foot. A won decision scores the same as a knockdown plus whatever combo you keep alive.
Difficulty
Boxing Blitz is rated Medium. The opponent reacts on a half-second window, guards roughly three punches in ten and throws two-punch combinations in round one, growing to three by round three. It is a fair fight, but it does not wait for you.

Boxing Blitz — frequently asked questions
How do you play Boxing Blitz?
Press Start, then use J, K and L to throw the jab, hook and uppercut, hold Space to block, and press Q or R to slip left or right. Land more damage than your opponent across three rounds, or knock them down.
What are the controls for Boxing Blitz?
On a keyboard: A and D to move, J for jab, K for hook, L for uppercut, Space to block, Q and R to slip, and P to pause. On a touchscreen, use the button strip below the ring.
How does the combo system work?
Each clean punch adds to your combo and refreshes a decay window of roughly one second. The multiplier climbs on a curve that flattens near ×5. Taking a clean punch resets the combo to zero immediately.
How do I score more points?
Counter-punch. A punch that lands while your opponent is recovering from their own is worth about 70% more than the same punch landed cold, and it keeps your combo alive because you are not being hit while you do it.
Can I play Boxing Blitz on a phone?
Yes. Touch controls appear automatically on touchscreens, the canvas scales to your screen, and multi-touch lets you hold block while punching.
Where is my high score saved?
In your browser's local storage, on the device you played on. It is never uploaded, and there is no global leaderboard on this site. Clearing your browser data clears your scores.
